The Best Mother’s Day Trip Ideas
Beach Bum Mom Trip
Clearwater, Florida
If your mom loves the beach, consider taking her to Clearwater, Florida. This 3-mile beach on the Gulf Coast truly lives up to its name. The water is crystal clear and warm.
Whether your mom wants to do something active or relaxing, Clearwater has something for everyone! You all can go paddleboarding, snorkeling, sailing, or sunset cruising.
My family and I love walking Pier 60. Whether you like fishing or not, this place is worth it, especially at sunset! The best part is it’s only a couple of bucks per person.
Take your mom to the Island Way Grill; their food is delicious. You will be spending a pretty penny, but everything you try there will have you wanting more. We absolutely loved the crab dip and the Mahi-Mahi. I also recommend their 360 Lemondrops with Pineapple. They taste like juice but pack a punch.

Mother’s Day Trip on a Cruise
I’m going to be honest with you: my mom, brother, and I aren’t really into cruises. I watched Titanic way too much as a kid! As for them, they just don’t like the concept of being in a massive hotel in the middle of the ocean.
That being said, this is still a fantastic option for a Mother’s Day Trip. There is something to do for everyone, and you’ll make several stops to explore unique places.
I’m going to try to overcome my illogical fear of cruise ships with my dad on our Father’s Day trip. But let’s get back to our mommas.
If your mom is into all-inclusive experiences, consider booking a trip with Viking Ocean Cruises, an Adult-Only option. This cruise line travels worldwide, visiting several countries. But be aware that the shortest voyage is 8 days, so it is a time commitment!
If you need a whole-family option, including kids, look into Royal Caribbean International. They have lots of activities for adults, teens, and kids, whether your mom wants to lounge by the pool with the grandkids or catch some waves at the surf simulator. She will have a blast with the family.
The best part of the Royal Caribbean is that they have many US ports and three-day options!

Trip for a Music-Loving Mom?
New Orleans, Louisiana
If your mom loves music, you should plan a trip to New Orleans, Louisiana! The Big Easy is famous not just for Gumbo but also for the city’s musical talents. Don’t get me wrong, the Gumbo is amazing!
In New Orleans, you will hear genres like Jazz, Bounce, Hip-Hop, Zydeco, blues, brass, and indie. In fact, they have museums dedicated to their musical influence, like the New Orleans Jazz Museum.
The French Quarter is a must when visiting the city, whether you are a tourist or a local. But consider taking your mom on a scenic steamboat cruise where she can enjoy live music on the Mississippi River.
Closest Airport: LaGuardia Airport (LGA)
Nature Loving Mother’s Day Trip
The Grand Canyon
The United States has over 400 national parks, so you have tons of unique options. But the top place for a nature-loving Mother’s Day trip should be the Grand Canyon!
The Grand Canyon is one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World. When you see this masterpiece, you will understand why. It will leave you speechless! When we went with my mom, the chatterbox of the family, all she could say was, “Wow!”
The best part of the Canyon is that it is budget-friendly. Don’t get me wrong, airfare and hotel stays are not cheap, but you don’t have to pay for a tour or anything. Just follow the trail, and there will be viewing platforms everywhere. Seriously, every step you take is like seeing it anew. It never gets old!
If your budget allows, I recommend taking a helicopter or guided hike. Our favorite was the Grand Canyon Helicopter 45-Minute Flight with Hummer Tour. I also suggest taking picnic-type food with you because the restaurants are all outside the park, mediocre, and overpriced.

Spiritual Journey with Your Mama
Asheville, North Carolina
If you and your mom are anything like us, you are into meditation, yoga, and chakras. For us, it is a way of life, not just a vacation. So, it made it hard for me to pick just one place for a spiritual journey.
So, if you want to take your mom on a soul-searching adventure, you can’t go wrong with Asheville, NC. This peaceful city is a spiritual vortex constructed on a quartz bed.
You can feel the healing energy from the crystals everywhere you go.
One favorite experience in Asheville was the Micro Retreat with Namaste in Nature. You will go on a 3- to 4-guided hike at the top of the mountain that includes medication and yoga.
If your mama is into adventure, I suggest taking her on the Navitat Mountaintop Zipline Tour. It consists of 3 huge zips on the mountain. You will be able to do the 3,600-long ziplines side by side.

Mother’s Day Trip for a City Dweller
New Orleans, Lousianna
There are so many wonderful cities in the United States, so it depends on what your mom is into. My mom’s favorite city is New York, so she is always happy when we get a chance to visit.
The Big Apple never gets old! Every time you visit, there is something new to try. If it is your first time in the city, check out Central Park, Times Square, and the MET staples.
My absolute favorite is taking the ferry to visit Lady Liberty and Ellis Island! You can do them together, but if you have the time, go on two separate days to take it all in.
Our favorite thing is seeing the Manhattan skyline from New Jersey, whether in Jersey City, Hoboken, or Weehawken. The views from Jersey are absolutely magnificent!

Foodie Trip with My Mom
Dallas, Texas
If your mom is a food lover, especially BBQ, then you have to take her to Dallas! Everywhere you go, your nose will be hit with delicious aromas.
This city has so many unique things to do with your family, from the Sixth Floor Museum to the Botanical Gardens. But, the food is the reason to go to Dallas.
Everything you eat in Dallas is indescribably good! I can’t count the amount of time we did the foodie dance. So, make sure to pack your stretchy pants. Lol
Honestly, you’re going to need them!
My top recommendations are Terry Blacks Barbeque in Deep Ellum, Chet’s in the historic district, and Yardbird Table by Klyde Warren Park.
We loved Dallas so much that I wrote several posts about it, which I have linked below.

Theme Park Enthusiast Trip with Your Mama
Orlando, Florida
My brother and I are amusement park junkies, and we learned it from my mom. I can’t even count how many times we went to Orlando, FL.
So, I know your theme park-loving momma will be happy if you take her to the Theme Park Capital of the World.
If she is a fan of Disney, then go to Walt Disney World. Is she is more into Universal, then go to Universal Studios and Island of Adventures. Does she love nature? If so, go to Seaworld or Busch Gardens in Tampa. Are waterparks more of her jam? Then check out Volcano Bay or Aquatica. Is she into space, then go to Kennedy Space Center.
There are over a dozen parks to choose from!
Regardless of your choice, look into the fast pass options to maximize your experience. Wear comfortable shoes. Also, bring a refillable water bottle with a carrying strap. I know it’s something you have to lug around, but the Florida heat is no joke!

Mother’s Day Trip with a History BuffÂ
Savannah, Georgia
The United States has many beautiful cities full of history. One of the best is Savannah, Georgia. My mom loves touring all the historic places, from Mercer-Williams House to Colonial Park Cemetery.
Speaking of Cemeteries, Savannah is one of the most haunted places in the United States. So, their ghost tours are a great addition to Mother’s Day Trips.
Savannah has so many exciting places to explore. We loved walking around at Forsyth Park in the morning! Throughout the park, you will see gorgeous mossy oaks, the iconic White Fountain, and many historic statues and monuments.
You have to check out River Street. There are lots of cute shops for souvenir shopping. Some of the most famous restaurants in Savannah are on River Street, so if your mom is a foodie, then this is the stop for her! They also have the Savannah Riverboat Cruise, which I hear good things about.
